Prohibitions1 | Celluloid and articles wholly or partly made of celluloid, such as photograph films. Non-inflammable cinematograph films are, however, admitted by letter post provided that the packets bear a label clearly marked in red characters "This contains non-inflammable films only". Charged butane gas lighters and refills. Packets of picture postcards are prohibited from importation by printed papers post. Account and manuscript books, advertising matter (with the exception of trade catalogues and circular), almanacs, cards in general, labels, photographs, picture books, printed forms and works of art are prohibited from importation by printed papers post when sent as merchandise, obscene or immoral articles including sex toys. |
Restrictions1 | Bank-notes, coin, currency notes or securities of any kind payable to bearer, travellers’ cheques, gold, silver or platinum, manufactured or not, jewels, precious stones and other valuable articles such as mobile phones, precious pens, watches, eyeglasses, toys, etc., may only be imported with permission from the State Bank of Pakistan and are admissible only in insured letters. Important documents, including original educational documents and test results of GRE (Graduate Record Examination), TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and IELTS (International English Language Testing System) should be sent by registered mail or EMS. Moreover, items containing valuables should be properly packed in order to ensure secure transmission up to final delivery. Restrictions also apply to the importation of plants and parts of plants. |

Import Licence | With certain exceptions, parcels containing goods up to value of 2,500 escudos may be imported into Portugal without import licence or prior registration. An import licence is required for all parcels containing goods exceeding 2,500 escudos in value. |
Invoices | An invoice certified by a Portuguese Consul is required in respect of each consignment of goods over 550 escudos in value sent from a district in which a Portuguese consular representative resides. These invoices should not accompany the parcels but should be sent direct to the addressee. Certificates of origin are required for certain types of goods.
