Prohibitions1Explosive and inflammable liquids and solids. Other dangerous substances, such as compressed gas, corrosive liquids, toxic or radioactive materials, as well as any other substances that could endanger human life or cause damage.
Restrictions1Any acceptable liquids such as food oil, hair lotions etc. must be packed in strong boxes containing wool, straw or other absorbent packing round the bottles, the packing should be in sufficient quantity to absorb the whole of the contents in the event of breakage of the container. Sharp objects may be transmitted through the posts provided the edges and points are carefully covered.
Customs DutyArticles other than tobacco and spirits, for the personal use of the addressee, are admitted free of duty when the amount of the duty would not exceed $1.50 Fijian.
InvoicesParcels containing articles for trade must be accompanied by a certified invoice (original or copy) written in French or English. This invoice must be attached to the customs declaration and must not be enclosed in the parcel.

Restrictions1Restrictions apply to the importation of - alcohol and liqueurs; bees; wax and honey; celluloid and films; cut flowers (except flowers and wreaths addressed to British cemeteries); eggs of game birds during close season; fish and games; fresh fruit; fresh vegetables and potatoes, including seed potatoes; gramophone records; leeches; living plants, roots and bulbs; preserved fish, plums and vegetables; shrubs; tobacco and tobacco products: medicines, serums (including insulin) etc; gold, silver, platinum and plated articles. Information regarding these importation should be ascertained from the addressee.
Import LicencesThe importation of certain other goods is subject to the production of an import licence, and such goods should not be despatched until the necessary licence has been obtained by the addressee.
Gift ParcelsGift parcels should not exceed 300 francs in value. Customs charges include V.A.T. up to 30 percent are normally raised on all goods but tobacco, alcohol and books are subject to special charges.
InvoicesInvoice will be necessary for commercial parcels of a value greater than 150 French francs and recommended for private parcels. It must compulsorily be attached by the sender.
DeliveryParcels are delivered in all areas. Where they are not delivered an advice of arrival is sent to the addressee.
