SINGAPORE, 30 October 2023 – As part of celebrations commemorating 165 years of postal services in Singapore this year, Singapore Post Limited (SingPost) intends to contribute back to the community in its own way through the SingPost Packathon, and Gift-A-Wish initiatives.
SingPost organised the SingPost Packathon, a distribution of care packs to underprivileged households across Singapore, to provide some support to the community during challenging times. More than 80 staff volunteers prepared 1,858 care packs filled with essential items, delivered, and distributed them to beneficiaries from Community Chest’s supported social service agencies - REACH Community Services Society, TOUCH Community Services Ltd., and Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities Ltd.
The delivery flag-off event was graced by Ms Low Yen Ling, Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Trade and Industry, Mayor of South West District, as the Guest of Honour.
Ms Neo Su Yin, CEO Singapore, SingPost, said: “The SingPost Packathon showcases our commitment in making every delivery count. We hope to make a difference for households in need and help to alleviate some impact from the challenges that they are facing. It is through collaboration and with dedication that we can truly bring about positive impact to the community. Our upcoming Gift-A-Wish initiative is also aimed at bringing children some warmth and festive cheer to brighten up their holidays. Let us continue working together to support our community in good times and hard times.”
Gift-A-Wish
SingPost will be launching Gift-A-Wish in December – where SingPost will fulfil the wishes of 165 underprivileged children during the year-end festive season.
SingPost will collect 165 wishes from underprivileged children, and have staff adopt wishes to fulfil in secret-santa style.
