Poste Italiane has advised that heavy rain in the eastern part of Sicily, which started on 25 October 2021 and is still ongoing, has led to significant and extensive floods, landslides and road closures. A state of emergency has been declared for the area until the end of that week.
As a result, mail transport, processing and delivery operations throughout the island (postcodes 9****) are liable to be disrupted for both inbound and outbound letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items, and Poste Italiane has declared a situation of force majeure.
