Poste Italiane has advised that it has a backlog for the clearance of packets and parcels owing to an issue with the national customs IT system. The backlog is also causing capacity issues in the warehouse and is therefore also affecting low-value items (value below 150 EUR), including items with IOSS (Import One Stop Shop) numbers.
Poste Italiane is taking all necessary measures to solve the above issues in conjunction with the senior management of the customs administration and IT services, and will provide regular updates on the situation with a view to resolving it as quickly as possible.
