New Zealand Post has advised that thanks to the swift implementation of contingency plans, postal operations (transportation network, processing and delivery) have returned to normal in New Zealand’s South Island.
However, the main road network remains significantly adversely impacted after sustained heavy rainfall resulting in floods, slips, road closures, and the destruction of roads and bridges throughout the Canterbury region of the South Island.
