Mauritius Post has advised that the National Crisis Committee has asked public- and private-sector workers to remain at home on 22 April 2024 because of torrential rainfall in the country.
All post offices, delivery offices, offices of exchange and call centres are currently closed.
This will affect the collection, transportation and processing of both inbound and outbound letter post, parcel post and EMS, leading to delay in the delivery of mails across the country. Mauritius Post has opened a force majeure case. The authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
