Poste Italiane has updated that a strike called by several unions, without the authorization of the public authorities, has been in effect since 10 February 2024. The strike involves the personnel of Poste Italiane’s commercial handler at Malpensa airport, has impeded site access for other workers and is preventing the arrival and departure of postal shuttles between the office of exchange and the Malpensa airmail unit.
Despite contingency measures being implemented, the strike is causing significant disruption to the handling of inbound mail and the forwarding of outbound mail.
The local authorities have engaged in mediation efforts between the parties concerned, but the end date of the strike and duration of the disruption remain unknown.
