Hellenic Post has advised that the whole country was hit by heavy snowfalls on 24 January 2022. This has resulted in the closure of sorting centres, and collections and deliveries have been cancelled. The main highway connecting Athens and Thessaloniki is closed, along with many main roads in the Attica region. Numerous flights (domestic and international) to and from Athens International Airport are also cancelled. According to the weather forecast, the situation is set to become even worse in the coming days. This will have a direct impact on all postal operations.
